We are looking for a Junior Accountant. The applicant will be responsible for the accurate accounting of financial ledger entries and provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. The applicant will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.
Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
The individual must be willing to learn, accept responsibility, take accountability and form part of a diverse finance team with numerous financial experience in the audit and operational field.
The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long term success.
R100,000 and R180,000 per annum
Inclusive of performance bonus, medical aid, pension, travel allowance and 20% overtime allowance.
Place of work will be at the premises of Netelek (Pty) Ltd at 5 Zeederberg Square, Paarl
Accounting Qualification (BCom Accounting, Accounting Diploma, etc.)
At least 2 years of relevant experience in the relevant field
The candidate must be willing to travel, as well as from time to time, outside the borders of the country.
Must be fluent in English (speaking as well as writing) – other languages will be an advantage.
Must have excellent computer skills.

Indicative scope of Responsibilities for the successful candidate:
Good record keeping.
Preparation of accounts to trail balance
Preparation of supplier payments
VAT and PAYE return preparation
Assist Finance Manager with FAR, forecasting, budgeting, salaries, month-end reporting process and any other ad-hoc requests in line with business requirements
General financial administration

Salary will depend on qualifications and experience but the band envisaged is between R100,000 and R180,000 per annum and will depend on the candidates experience, qualifications and assessment. The Group pension scheme also allows for 24 month salary payout to nominated person(s) in case of death.
